The Regular Season in BSN just started. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

First defeat of Santeros against Indios 85-65 was the most important game of the last round. Worth to mention a great performance of American Milton Doyle (193-1993, college: Loyola, IL) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 5 assists. The former international point guard Jorge Pacheco (188-1998, college: Liberty, agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with 15 points and 5 assists for the winners. Serbian-American power forward Nick Rakocevic (211-1997, college: USC, agency: Slash Sports) answered with 13 points and 6 rebounds for Aguada. Santeros will play next round against strong Bayamon trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Indios will try to continue on its current victory against Ponce in Juana Diaz.
Piratas defeated Criollos in Quebradillas 91-85. Panamanian-Mexican center Joshua Ibarra (211-1995, college: HCU) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 18 rebounds for the winners and Emmanuel Mudiay chipped in 22 points. At the losing side Panamanian-American center Akil Mitchell (206-1992, college: Virginia) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Criollos' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Criollos will play next round against strong Santurce trying to get back on the winning streak. Piratas will try to continue on its current victory against Arecibo on the road.

Ismael Romero nailed a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Davon Jefferson came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for San German in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Mets will meet at home Manati in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Atleticos will play against Carolina and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Other games in round 1 were not that significant. Manati beat Caguas on the road 99-94. Santurce won against Arecibo on its own court 72-66. Carolina lost to Guaynabo in a road game 89-106. Bayamon managed to beat Mayaguez at home 86-71.
The most impressive performance of 1st round was 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists by Danilo Gallinari of Bayamon.



Mayaguez - Aguada 85-65

American forward Davon Jefferson (203-1986, college: USC) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and international point guard Tjader Fernandez (178-1994) added 16 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for San German in the defeat. Four Guaynabo and five San German players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Mets will meet at home Manati in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Atleticos will play against Carolina and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The game between closely ranked teams ended with Osos' road victory over Criollos in Caguas 99-94 on Sunday. Manati made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Mali power forward Cheick Diallo (206-1996, college: Kansas) nailed a double-double by scoring 25 points, 18 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winning side and American point guard Norris Cole (188-1988, college: CSU) accounted for 23 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Christian Lopez (183-1995) came up with 26 points and 5 rebounds and Nigerian guard Olumiye Oni (198-1997, college: Yale) added 10 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for Caguas in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Criollos' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Osos will meet Guaynabo on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Criollos will play against Santurce and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Santurce - Arecibo 72-66

Cangrejeros used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Arecibo 72-66 on Wednesday night. Santurce made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Strangely Arecibo outrebounded Santurce 42-30 including 29 on the defensive glass. Forward Angel Rodriguez (193-1992, college: PR-Bayamon) nailed 28 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals for the winning side and the former international forward Angel Matias (194-1992, college: Georgia South) accounted for 17 points. American guard Pierre Jackson (180-1991, college: Baylor, agency: Slash Sports) came up with 16 points and 4 assists and the other American import power forward Dewan Hernandez (211-1997, college: Miami, FL) added 12 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Arecibo in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cangrejeros will meet at home Caguas in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Capitanes will play against Quebradillas and hope to win that game.

Rather predictable result when Mets won against Gigantes in Guaynabo 106-89 on Wednesday. Guaynabo dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Gigantes's 48. Guaynabo outrebounded Carolina 42-31 including 29 on the defensive glass. Guaynabo looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American guard Bryce Cotton (182-1992, college: Providence, agency: Pensack Sports) nailed a double-double by scoring 21 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists (made all of his seven free throws) for the winning side and international center Ismael Romero (205-1991) accounted for 20 points and 11 rebounds. Five Mets players scored in double figures. American forward Kristian Doolittle (201-1997, college: Oklahoma, agency: Pensack Sports) came up with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import guard Kobi Simmons (196-1997, college: Arizona) added 17 points and 4 assists respectively for Carolina in the defeat.
